Dr Dre appears to have celebrated being finally divorced from his wife Nicole Young.

Chameleon Entertainment boss Breyon Prescott posted a photo of the rapper and music mogul sitting on a chair in front of balloons that read 'DIVORCED AF'.

Breyon wrote on his Instagram post: "Hey Well My Brother @drdre Just Told Me It's Final !!! Congrats. Still Dre."

While Dre, whose real name is Andre Romelle Young, hasn't publicly commented on the status of how his divorce settlement has been going, it certainly sounds like things have been finalised.

The rapper and his apparently now-ex-wife have been locked in a bitter and lengthy divorce battle.

Andre and Nicole were married for 24 years after getting hitched in 1996. They have two children together.

Ms Young filed for divorce last year and cited 'irreconcilable differences' as their reason for the split.

The divorce settlement has been particularly nasty due to the dispute over whether their prenup was still valid.

Nicole claims she was forced to sign a prenuptial agreement before their mid-'90s wedding on account of her soon-to-be hubby's enormous wealth at the time.

He's since gone on to make more than $1 billion in record sales and products through Beats by Dre.

However, Nicole alleges Andre 'felt ashamed he had pressured me into signing a premarital agreement and he tore up multiple copies of the agreement in front of me'.

She adds that when this was done they both agreed the prenup was void. Dr Dre objects to this version of events and claims the prenup was still technically and legally active.

During the settlement, Dre was ordered to pay Ms Young nearly US$300,000 every single month in spousal support.

Young initially asked for a whopping $1.9 million a month as well as have her $5 million lawyer fees paid for.

Ms Young wanted that incredible amount of money because of her extensive monthly outgoings, which includes entertainment ($900,000), education ($60,000), laundry and cleaning ($10,000), clothes ($135,000), charitable donations ($120,000), mortgage ($100,000) and 'telephone, cellphone and email' ($20,000).

According to the Daily Mail, Dre has to pay Nicole $3,51 million every single year until she remarries or 'enters into a new domestic partnership.'
