Dr Dre has been ordered to pay his ex-wife nearly US$300,000 every single month in spousal support.

The legendary rapper and his former partner Nicole Young have been locked in a bitter divorce battle and there has been a lengthy tit-for-tat on how much money she's entitled to.

Young initially asked for a whopping US$1.9 million a month as well as have her $5 million lawyer fees paid for by Dr, whose real name is Andre Young.

Ms Young wanted that incredible amount of money because of her extensive monthly outgoings, which include entertainment ($900,000), education ($60,000), laundry and cleaning ($10,000), clothes ($135,000), charitable donations ($120,000), mortgage ($100,000) and 'telephone, cellphone and email' ($20,000).

That was for every month.

Dre said at the time to TMZ: "This all seems like the wrath of an angry person being exacerbated by opportunistic lawyers."

However, a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge has decided Dr Dre will be required to pay only a fraction of that initial request for the interim.

According to Radar Online, this decision is only temporary until a final decision is made.

The court document read: "[Dre] is ordered to pay to the [Nicole] spousal support in the sum of $293,306.00 per month, payable on the first of each month, commencing August 1, 2021."

Andre and Nicole were married for 24 years after getting hitched in 1996. They have two children together.

Ms Young filed for divorce last year and cited 'irreconcilable differences' as their reason for the split.

The divorce settlement has been particularly bitter due to the dispute over whether their prenup was still valid.

Nicole claims she was forced to sign a prenuptial agreement before their mid-'90s wedding on account of her soon-to-be hubby's enormous wealth at the time.

He's since gone on to make more than $1 billion in record sales and products through Beats by Dre.

However, Nicole alleges Andre 'felt ashamed he had pressured me into signing a premarital agreement and he tore up multiple copies of the agreement in front of me'.

She adds that when this was done they both agreed the prenup was void. Dr Dre objects to this version of events and claims the prenup was still technically and legally active.
