The epic Fast and Furious movie franchise is set to come to an end after two more films.

Deadline reports director Justin Lin is currently finishing up F9 and Universal Pictures is keen to do a tenth and eleventh film to finish the series.

The reports suggest one large story will be told over two films, like a Part One and Part One type deal.

It's suggested the double movie will focus on Vin Diesel and bring back Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel and Sung Kang.

But until then, we should get pumped for Fast and Furious 9, which sounds like it will be outrageous. The blockbuster franchise has clearly become bored of tarmac, so has tried its hand at zero-gravity instead and will reportedly head to space.

It's been rumoured for some time that the series would venture out of our atmosphere, with Ludacris hinting at it on more than one occasion.

But in an interview with another of the franchise's stars, Michelle Rodriguez, who plays Letty in the film, the rumours were pretty much confirmed.

When asked about it on Sirius XM's The Jess Cagle Show, the 42-year-old seemed shocked that everyone knew.

She said: "Oh, no way. How did you guys find that out? See what happens? People start talking behind the scenes, man. When a movie doesn't come out and forget about it, things get out. Nobody was supposed to know that!"

But, sadly for Michelle, when she was asked whether or not her character got a chance to head up into space, she said: "No way! Oh, well. No, I'm not, I'm not. I'm not lucky enough to hit space."

Now, while how much of the movie is set in space has yet to be confirmed, LADbible understands it will be one huge stunt rather than the entire movie. Sorry.

It's also suspected that Paul Walker's character will make an appearance, despite the actor dying in 2013.

In the seventh film, Walker's on-screen character Brian O'Conner got the send-off he deserved and drove off into the sunset to be with his family, retiring from the Fast & Furious team.

It looks like Vin Diesel's character Dom will revisit an event in his life that was first mentioned in the original film, which was released way back in 2001 when the franchise started out.

O'Connor's name popped up in 2017's The Fate of the Furious as someone that could be contacted about Dom's betrayal, but the team at the time decided to honour his retirement. However - sources close to the film's casting department have revealed that they were on the lookout for a Paul Walker double.
