Henry Cavill already has one videogame adaptation under his belt and now he's hungry for another one.

Since starring as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's The Witcher TV show, which was based off the novel and video game series of the same name, Cavill has been exploring some other gaming options.

Speaking to Game Reactor at the Madrid red carpet for The Witcher: Season 2, the British actor was asked what video game he would like to star in next.

"Well, that's a tricky one, 'cause you're tying both an IP and a company together, which is a tricky thing to do, so I certainly don't want to put myself in any corners with that, but there are plenty of games out there," he said.

"I've actually started playing Red Dead Redemption 2.

"I know I'm a little bit late to that party - but I started playing it and I'm really enjoying it. And so, something like that I think would be fun to turn into a movie."

Red Dead Redemption was released in 2018, but if The Witcher took 12 years to be turned into a TV show, then maybe it isn't too late

Red Dead Redemption 2 is an action-adventure game from Rockstar Games and is actually the third entrant in the series.

The story follows outlaw Arthur Morgan in 1899 as he deals with the decline of the Wild West and tries to survive as a member of the Van der Linde gang.

But it looks like the western survival game isn't the only thing Cavill has his eye on.

Speaking to GamesRadar+, Cavill also said he would 'love to have a conversation' about a Mass Effect series.

He had a number of caveats, including that it sticks close to the source material and that he'd want to be involved with the execution, but it definitely sounds like he's keen on a chat.

The Mass Effect series has an advantage on Red Dead Redemption in that they're already reportedly on the way to development through Amazon Studios.

Nothing has been confirmed, but people associated with the game have hinted at an upcoming project, suggesting it's just a matter of time before one arrives.

Cavill hinted he was already attached to the show by posting on Instagram at a 'secret project' in a blurry pic that internet sleuths deduced was a print out of the Mass Effect Wikipedia page.

Mass Effect is a series of four sci-fi games that has inspired a number of offshoots including comics and novels.
