How Much Does PewDiePie Earn? What's His Net Worth And Who's His Wife?
Anyone interested in computer games will know of YouTube gaming streamer PewDiePie - one of the biggest names in the online world, who's even married to a fellow vlogger, fashion YouTuber Marzia Bisognin. PewDiePie has more subscribers to his channel than the population of Germany. As you can imagine, this makes him a lot of money. His real name is Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg and despite coming from Gothenberg, Sweden, he now lives in Brighton in the UK with Marzia, who he's been with since 2011.
Recently, a company called Purple Moon studied PewDiePie to see how much he earns. They collected data using a program called Sellfy which is a 'YouTube Money Calculator'. It can determine the minimum and maximum amount a channel can earn through advertising and merch. Purple Moon used an average of these two amounts.
How much does PewDiePie earn?
The Swedish streamer reportedly rakes in nearly $8 million (£6.5m) in monthly revenue, including more than $6.8 million (£5.6m) from selling merchandise and more than $1.1 million (£905k) in advertising, according to the study. To add to his income, PewDiePie switched from Twitch to DLive to the tune of $15.5 million (£12.8m)
How does Sellfy work?
Sellfy said it arrived at its merchandise figures by relying on data from thousands of YouTubers, according to the company's website. According to Sellfy.com: "Your income estimates will be calculated based on YouTubers similar to you.
"From there, we take the average product price across all our stores and using our previously calculated purchase likelihood, we calculate the range of potential income. Sellfy calculated each channel's advertising revenue by using a CPM range, which is "how much an advertiser pays for 1,000 views of [its] ad."
Who comes close?
In second place is YouTube's biggest sports channel, Dude Perfect who generated $29 million (£29m) by selling products and $490,000 (£403k) in advertising, according to the survey. A British gaming channel called DanTDM makes more than $2.2 million (£1.8m) in merchandise and almost $365,000 (£300K) in advertising.
Recently, PewDiePie turned to NuDiePie by posting a saucy shot in the sea on his Instagram channel which almost hit 2 million likes in just 24 hours. Now that's what I call a confidence boost.
If you've ever wanted to make money just by playing games in your bedroom, then PewDiePie is living proof that your dreams can come true.
