Jake Paul says he's already showing early signs of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) after starting his boxing career.
The YouTuber turned boxer spoke during a media appearance ahead of his bout against former UFC star Ben Askren, in which he said he'd undergone brain scans but that he 'loves the sport' and doesn't regret becoming a fighter.

Paul said: "It's a dangerous sport. That's why, when people question my dedication to it, it's like, I'm showing up every single day.
"I'm putting my mental health on the line, my brain is on the line. Like you said, I've gone and gotten brain scans and [I] have early signs of CTE.
"But, I love this sport and wouldn't trade it for anything else. I'm a fighter and people will see that whether it's after Saturday night or whether it's a year from now they will see that I'm a fighter."
CTE is a brain degeneration that is thought to be caused by repeated trauma to the head.

According to the NHS, typical symptoms of the condition include short-term memory loss, changes in mood and slurred speech.
Since Paul's claims, experts in the industry have suggested that it could make things more difficult next time he wants to get a fight licenced.
Paul downed Askren in the first round of his bout over the weekend in a result that stunned fans all over the world.

Incredible ringside footage showed the exact moment the YouTuber connected with the former UFC fighter, which knocked him down to the canvas with a thunderous right hand.
In the clip, someone from the side can be heard saying, 'just touch', then, a second later, the 24-year-old threw his right hand.
Despite Askren's valiant attempt to get back to his feet and continue the fight, the ref called an end to the match and Paul raced over to his corner and jumped on the ropes.
In his post-fight interview, Jake Paul said he couldn't believe how far he had come, adding: "Just a couple of years ago, my teachers would make fun of me in class, telling me I can't do nothing, telling me I wasn't smart.

"My schoolmates making fun of me, I used to landscape. I just had a dream and I chased it and worked hard.
"To think I'm here standing next to these legends, it's unbelievable."
"I've been in training camp every day, I deserved that s**t. This is the craziest moment of my life. I told y'all I was going to do it in the first round, I told y'all I'm a real fighter.
"I don't know how many times I've got to prove myself that this is for real."
