There's no doubt that a movie starring these two actors would be nothing short of epic.

Jason Momoa is keen on teaming up with Dwayne Johnson for a new movie.

Considering the two are now firmly planted in the DC Universe with Aquaman and Black Adam, the idea isn't completely out of the realm of possibility.

Momoa was recently interviewed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and expressed his interest at seeing a DC movie crossover happen in the future or simply just starring in the same film.

He told the TV host: "We've tried to get together and make a movie together. It's just, he's way busier than I am, and I'm pretty busy right now, so one of these days."

Jimmy Fallon egged Momoa on to see whether he could pinpoint a time when they would both be free to work on a project together.

"We will, and it's really cool now because he's kind of in my pocket so I can call him up and be like, 'Yo, Black Adam,'" joked Momoa.

That favour could be related to when The Rock asked Jason back in April to help out celebrating his daughter's birthday.

A few months ago, the Aquaman star sent a video message to Dwayne's daughter, Tiana Gia, for her third birthday because he is one of her favourite superheroes.

In the clip, Jason said: "I'm sorry I couldn't be there but I love you and tell your papa that I love him too. I'll see you soon, happy third birthday. Bye Jazzy, bye Tia, love you."

Filming is about to get underway on the Aquaman sequel, which only last week received its official title: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

It's set to premiere in theatres on 16 December 2022 and it's rumoured to focus on another submerged city, one that has tense relations with Atlantis.

The city Necrus is ruled by the militaristic king Mongo and is never in the same place twice owing to a dimensional rift that pulls it onto the ocean floor as an alien satellite travels into Earth's orbit every now and then.

Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson is in the middle of filming Black Adam, which will be part of the DC Extended Universe. As a spinoff of Shazam!, it will explore the origins of the hero's archenemy who shares the same unbelievable powers as the ancient wizard.
