J.K. Rowling has revealed the lengths people have gone to display their discontent towards her.
The Harry Potter author explained that 'hundreds' of 'activists' have been lobbing hurtful and threatening messages at her on social media.
The hatred is all due to the Hogwarts creator's views on trans-women.

She attracted a lot of attention last year when she took issue with an article that said 'people who menstruate' in an attempt to make it as inclusive as possible.
However, Rowling said this attempt at inclusion seemingly excluded women from their own bodily narrative.
She was quick to point out that she isn't anti-trans, but concerned about how cisgendered women like her are starting to feel erased from femininity due to the trans community.

She wrote on Twitter: "If sex isn't real, there's no same-sex attraction. If sex isn't real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn't hate to speak the truth.
"The idea that women like me, who've been empathetic to trans people for decades, feeling kinship because they're vulnerable in the same way as women - ie, to male violence - 'hate' trans people because they think sex is real and has lived consequences - is a nonsense.
"I respect every trans person's right to live any way that feels authentic and comfortable to them. I'd march with you if you were discriminated against on the basis of being trans. At the same time, my life has been shaped by being female. I do not believe it's hateful to say so."
Those comments were labeled 'transphobic' and she copped a serve from everywhere, even from her Harry Potter stars.

She's since explained how deep the reaction has been.
Rowling screenshot a tweet that told the author to watch out for a pipe bomb coming her way and added how this was one of many posts she gets every day.
But, she's trying to act like it's water off a duck's back.

"To be fair, when you can't get a woman sacked, arrested or dropped by her publisher, and cancelling her only made her book sales go up, there's really only one place to go," she said in response to the pipe bomb tweet.
"Now hundreds of trans activists have threatened to beat, rape, assassinate and bomb me I've realised that this movement poses no risk to women whatsoever.
"Got to get back to my chapter now, but to all the people sending me beautiful, kind, funny and supportive messages, thank you so much . Wish I had time to answer all of you, but Strike and Robin are at a tricky stage of their investigation, so I need to drop a few clues."
The revelation saw the author flooded with messages of support, with fans saying no one should have to be threatened with death for expressing an opinion.
