An American Judge has approved Kanye West's application to legally change his name.
The rapper submitted his request earlier this year to be officially known as Ye on all his legal documents.
According to Deadline, Rolling Stone and TMZ that request has been approved by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, Michelle Williams, and the icon will no longer be formally known as Kanye Omari West.

He released an album titled Ye in 2018 and it is been a sort of nickname used by the rapper and his fans for years.
However, he explained the meaning behind his new moniker during a radio interview three years ago.
Speaking to radio host Big Boy, Ye said: "I believe 'ye' is the most commonly used word in the Bible.

"In the Bible it means you. So, I'm you. And I'm us. It's us.
"It went from being Kanye, which means the only one to just Ye, just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused-everything. It's more of a reflection of who we are [as] beings."
He first signalled that he wanted to change his name when he issued a tweet also in 2018.
It read: "The being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE."

Generally speaking, judges are more than willing to change someone's name, as long as there's no evidence of fraud.
According to TMZ, Ye's team hasn't wasted any time with the new name and have filed a trademark for the two-letter word for face masks.
The site claims the rapper wants to ensure his name isn't used on 'sanitary masks for protection against viral infection' produced by companies other than him.
