Leah Remini Reckons Tom Cruise’s Coronavirus Movie Set Rant Was All Staged

"Hearing a rich actor with enormous power address his crew in this way is a sign of weakness and a deeply troubled person.”

Tom Cruise divided opinion last week when audio leaked of him screaming expletives at staff on a movie set for not following strict Covid-19 restrictions.

The actor yelled at workers helping with the new Mission: Impossible film that if they break the rules they're 'f***ing gone'.

Some praised him for standing up for the seriousness of the pandemic, while others thought it was needlessly aggressive when a simple and calm word would have sufficed.

However, one vocal critic of Cruise and his famous religion, Scientology, has hit out against the viral leak.

Former Scientologist and whistleblower, Leah Remini, believes the move was all a PR stunt that was carefully written for him.

She's released a statement, saying: "Tom does not care about the families of his crew; this is all for publicity. I would bet that Tom had this rant written for him and had his Scientology assistant record and release it.

"Hearing a rich actor with enormous power address his crew in this way is a sign of weakness and a deeply troubled person."

The former The King of Queens star added that what Cruise said to the workers was a representation of the person she sees him as.

"This is the real Tom. This was the same reaction Tom gave his household staff when they did not have the right ingredients for him to make chocolate chip cookies," she said. "This is the same type of tirade Tom launched into when an assistant had the audacity to serve him a drink in a chipped mug."

The rant was sparked when Cruise saw two crew members standing closer than two metres to each other.

In audio obtained by The Sun, Cruise could be heard shouting: "If I see you do it again, you're f***ing gone. And if anyone in this crew does it, that's it - and you too and you too. And you, don't you ever f***ing do it again."

He was clearly unhappy that his plans to keep filming during the pandemic were being put at risk, the audio clip captured him saying: "They're back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us! Because they believe in us and what we're doing!

"I'm on the phone with every f***ing studio at night, insurance companies, producers, and they're looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs, you motherf***ers.

"I don't ever want to see it again, ever! And if you don't do it, you're fired. If I see you do it again, you're f***ing gone. And if anyone in this crew does it - that's it, and you too and you too. And you, don't you ever f***ing do it again.

"That's it! No apologies. You can tell it to the people that are losing their f***ing homes because our industry is shut down. It's not going to put food on their table or pay for their college education.

"That's what I sleep with every night. The future of this f***ing industry! So I'm sorry, I am beyond your apologies. I have told you and now I want it - and if you don't do it, you're out. We are not shutting this f***ing movie down! Is it understood?

"If I see it again, you're f***ing gone - and you are - so you're going to cost him his job. If I see it on the set, you're gone and you're gone."

Cruise's representatives haven't responded to Remini's remarks.
