Lovable rogue Lewis Capaldi is in the news once again for all the right reasons as he announces he'll be replacing Snow Patrol at TRNSMT Festival 2019 in a hilarious Instagram video.
The Chasing Cars band unfortunately had to pull out of the festival due to medial reasons leaving a slot available.
TRNSMT said: "LINE UP ANNOUNCEMENT.
"Sadly, due to medical reasons, @snowpatrol are unable to perform at TRNSMT 2019 on Sunday 14th July.
"We send our best wishes to the band!
"Scottish Superstar @LewisCapaldi will now join the festival bill."
Chart-topping Lewis had a far more fun way of revealing the news to his fans. He took to a muddy field to set himself the challenge of hitting the bar with a football from some distance. He promised that if he hit it, he'd step join the festival.
He took a little run up and smashed it towards the goal leaving the crossbar shaking.
Not that we're cynical or anything, but there does seem to be quite a severe bit of editing during the video, so we're not sure how many times it took Capaldi to do it - we're just happy that he did.
As he wheels off in celebration you can only imagine his fans doing the same as they'll now get to see the Scottish singer on Sunday July 14.
After releasing his debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, Capaldi has become a household name. His album stayed at the top of the charts for a record-breaking four weeks.
Best known for his track, Someone Loved you, he'll perform in Glasgow at TRNSMT on top of his world tour which sold out in seconds. He recently joined a band on stage at Edinburgh pub for a song.
