Lizzo has joined a group of celebrities who have raised eyebrows because of their hygiene routine.

The 'Truth Hurts' singer recently explained how she had ditched deodorant and said Matthew McConaughey inspired her to come clean to her fans.

She said in an Instagram Story that after seeing the Academy-Award winning actor admit to ditching deodorant decades ago she felt comfortable to share her truth.

"Ok... I'm w him on this one. I stopped using deodorant and I smell BETTER," she said.

The 51-year-old famously revealed a few years ago that he hadn't ever really used deodorant.

According to reports, the actor's Fool's Gold co-star Kate Hudson even asked him to spritz himself while they were filming.

He told Playboy about the shoot back in 2008, saying: "She [Hudson] always brings a salt rock, which is some natural deodorant, and says, 'Would you please put this on?' I just never wore it. No cologne, no deodorant.

"The women in my life, including my mother, have all said, 'Hey, your natural smell smells, one, like a man, and, two, smells like you."

He also previously told People magazine back in 2005 that he hadn't 'worn deodorant in 20 years'.

But while you might think decades of not using sprays or aftershaves might leave a person smelling a bit dodgy, it seems you'd be wrong.

According to his Tropic Thunder co-star Yvette Nicole Brown, McConaughey smells absolutely delightful.

Speaking on SiriusXM last week, she recalled: "I remember that Matthew McConaughey said that he did not use deodorant and that he didn't have an odour.

"So my first thought was, 'I'm going to get as close as I can to him to see if he's right'.

"He does not have an odour. He smells like granola and good living. He has a sweet, sweet scent. That is just him, and it's not musty or crazy."

Matthew McConaughey's hygiene was revived as loads of celebrities started talking about whether they shower or not.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher said they only wash their children when they can 'see the dirt on them'.

The former Two and a Half Men star added that he just uses soap and water on just his 'armpits and crotch' and 'nothing else'.

The revelation sparked loads of interviewers to ask every celebrity they came across to see whether they bathe or shower every day.
