After waiting many months, fans can finally get a taste of the second part of Lucifer Season 5

The cheeky devil is back once again to help solve crime and clean up the mysteries of the human condition.

The second instalment is dropping on Netflix Australia and New Zealand today (May 28) and it's the best news ever for a Friday.

We'll be getting eight episodes in part two, which will give us answers to the epic cliffhanger we were left with in the first part.

DB Woodside, who plays Amenadiel, told TV Line it's going to be a 'fantastic season', explaining that we will be resuming directly where the last episode ended.

"We ended 5A with God (played by Dennis Haysbert) coming down and breaking up a fight between some of his boys. And we are literally going to pick up five seconds after that moment with all three of his sons and God having a word with us," he said.

"Amenadiel is absolutely humiliated that God saw him behaving the way that he was with his brothers because as the oldest, he's really supposed to be the one that sets the example - and he was not doing that!"

Thankfully, this also won't be the last time we see the show and cast.

While the fifth season was initially reported to be the last, Netflix confirmed it had been renewed for a sixth and final season.

But don't get your hopes up that it could be brought back from the brink for another time.

The streaming service wrote on social media when announcing the final instalment: "The devil made us do it. #Lucifer will return for a sixth and final season. Like, FINAL final."

Okay - we get it. Lucifer and his hilarious antics aren't coming back.

But we know it will be an emotional rollercoaster when we do eventually have to say goodbye.

When filming wrapped up for 5B, Woodside wrote in a tweet to star Tom Ellis: "Last scene with my brother... and I can not stop crying. Thank you for everything, brother. You are a divine talent and a true Gentleman. I love you mate."

We can only guess the waterworks will be even more intense for the sixth. It's unclear whether that will also be split into two parts or whether we'll get it in one, big, juicy load.
