Maya Jama Unfollows Stormzy On Instagram After Split

Everything seemed to be going so well for Stormzy. Ever since he wore a customised stab-proof vest to headline Glastonbury, he's become a beacon of hope in a time of political turmoil. However, it recently emerged that he'd split up with girlfriend of four years, Radio 1 DJ Maya Jama.
The couple had been together for more than four years, having met at Red Bull Culture Clash in late 2014, but apparently Maya grew 'tired' of Stormzy's party lifestyle and the couple decided to call it quits. To make matters worse, Maya has unfollowed him on Instagram. Ouch.
The ex-couple usually keep information about their relationship very quiet, but suspicion had been mounting after they hadn't been seen together since Glastonbury Festival in June. Jama also began to post cryptic tweets such as 'Truth always comes to light'. So, it's quite clear that Stormzy is in the doghouse.
A source told The Sun: "Maya has moved out of their home in South West London. The decision isn't one [Maya] has come to lightly, but ultimately the relationship has come to an end.
"She wants to focus on her TV and radio career for now."
In an interview with Vogue, the two opened up about how they met, explaining they'd first bumped into each other at an event and were an official item within three months.
Stormzy said: "We met in October, then we were going out by January."
Jama added: "We met at Red Bull Culture Clash.
"You know, if I'm really honest, I knew I fancied him from the start. But I didn't want anything yet, because, you know, you're trying to do the whole friend situation first, and then I'd do, like, obvious hints that I fancied him and then take it back because I didn't know if he definitely liked me.
"It was a childish phase. And then one day we just kissed, and that was that!"
In the interview, the two also discussed what it was like being together while juggling busy lives, which often involve a lot of travel.
Jama said: "The fact that we love each other. That's the main thing, right?"
Agreeing, Stormzy added: "Yeah."
It's not the first time the couple have unfollowed each other on Instagram, they briefly took a social media break from each other last year after rumours of a split last year. Reports at the time also claimed she'd moved out of their property, but she was back there a matter of weeks later. So maybe, they weren't the happy couple that we all thought after all...
