NBC Still Really Wants To Reboot The Office US

The world said goodbye to the team at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company back in 2013.

While it was a fitting end for The Office US after the show had racked up nine seasons, it seems the TV network who broadcast it wants to bring it back from the dead.

There have been loads of rumours about a reunion or a reboot, but nothing has materialised.

She explained that the network is essentially just waiting for the green light and they will commission a bunch of episodes immediately.

Everything was wrapped up in a nice little bow at the end of the ninth season, with many of the characters leaving Scranton or the company.

So, it begs the question of whether it would be an entirely new cast or whether the old cast would have to be coaxed back into their old roles.

Rainn Wilson, who played Dwight Schrute, has already indicated he's dead keen to come back for the show and 'would love to do something' if a reboot gets off the ground.

But Steve Carell, who played Michael Scott, has definitively ruled himself out. Even though he left the show in season seven, he wants the world to know he's moved on.

"There was something so special about it, and I guess it's an odd way to put it, but I love it too much to ever want to do it again. It's too special to me in my heart in that period of time."

Other characters from the show, like Mindy Kaling and John Krasinski, have all gone on to do amazing things in their career and it would be interesting to see whether they would come back.

So, it looks like there is loads of support from NBC for the project. It just comes down to whether it will get off the ground.
