Ryan Reynolds has told Paul Rudd to lap up his new title as Sexist Man Alive.

People magazine crowned the Clueless and Ant-Man star with the humbling honour and everyone has been going wild for it.

However, Reynolds, being a former winner of the title, has given Rudd some advice on what to do with it.

Reynolds said he was 'very excited' for his American buddy but feels it could have gone to someone else.

"I think that this opportunity will be wasted on him like so many before him," the Deadpool actor said in a very cheeky way.

"He's going to play it shy. He's going to play bashful, humble. If I know what I knew now, I wouldn't do that. You got to seize this opportunity."

Reynolds is of course talking about how he did the same when he was crowned People's Sexist Man Alive all the way back in 2010.

When asked how he felt when he was awarded the coveted title he alluded to the idea that he wasted it.

"Oh, if I got it now, I'm not saying I would leave my family, but they would need to go on without me," he told the hosts on NBC's TODAY.

"I would roam the world clutching my dog eared People magazine, going from town to town, like some...sowing my wild oats like some sort of nude magical gardener."

He finished his hilarious and bizarre lesson for Paul Rudd by telling him not to 'blow this' opportunity.

Judging from Rudd's interview with People magazine, he sounds like he will definitely get some use out of being the Sexiest Man Alive.

He told the news and entertainment outlet: "I'm going to lean into it hard. I'm going to own this. I'm not going to try to be like, 'Oh, I'm so modest'.

"I'm getting business cards made. But all of my friends will destroy me and I expect them to. And that's why they're my friends."

"I'm hoping now that I'll finally be invited to some of those sexy dinners with Clooney and Pitt and [Michael] B Jordan.

"And I figure I'll be on a lot more yachts. I'm excited to expand my yachting life. And I'll probably try to get better at brooding in really soft light. I like to ponder.

"I think this is going to help me become more inward and mysterious. And I'm looking forward to that."
