Singer Ray J has been hospitalised with pneumonia and has been placed in a coronavirus ward.

Doctors feared the 'One Wish' artist had contracted Covid-19 because his breathing was so laboured.

However, despite Ray J, real name William Ray Norwood Jr, testing negative for the virus five times, he was still placed in the ward designed for coronavirus patients.

Thankfully for him, he was transferred out of ward after two days.

The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant is asking people for their prayers as he battles pneumonia. Ray J's condition is being aided by an oxygen tank and he's able to talk.

However, his condition varies considerably, according to TMZ, as one minute he believes he's well enough to be discharged and go home and the next he worries he might die.

He told the news outlet: "I thought it was over. I started praying and knew God is good so I just kept praying."

Ray J famously left the Big Brother house early during his stint on the show back in 2017 after complaining of severe pain.

Just a week into filming, the R&B artist said he had a toothache that was so bad that he needed to go to hospital. He subsequently wasn't allowed back into the house to continue with the competition.

He was offered a reported £810,000 for his appearance on the show, making him one of the highest paid stars to ever appear on the show, however his early and sudden departure meant he might not have been paid.

His legal team launched a lawsuit months after filming ended.

His manager David Weintraub told the Mail Online: "We are deciding to sue because they are taking a position that is breaching the contract we agreed to.

"They are saying due to health issues, which don't exist with Ray that's the reason they pulled the plug, which is utter nonsense."
