Since Stranger Things premiered in 2016, Netflix subscribers just can't get enough of Millie Bobby Brown's Eleven and friends. The first season was critically acclaimed for its eerie storyline and retro 80s setting. The gang on the show were supposed to be 12-14, but how old were they when Stranger Things began and how old are they now? With season 3 starting on Netflix this week (July 4) we thought we'd see what they'd been up to since they first appeared on the small screen.
Millie Bobby Brown / Eleven
Millie was only 12 when she starred as the telekinetic Eggo fan Eleven in series 1. She was nominated for an Emmy for the role aged just 13.

In season 3, Millie has turned 15 and has a film debut under her belt, starring in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. She was also featured in the 2018 Time 100 list of the world's most influential people. That's enough for me to wonder what the hell I've been doing with my life.
Finn Wolfhard / Mike Wheeler
Finn was 12 when he played Mike Wheeler in season 1. Since then he's gone on to star in Stephen King's IT movie.

Now 16, Finn is set to have a role in both the Addams Family and the new Ghostbusters film in 2020.
Gaten Matarazzo / Dustin Henderson
Gaten was one of the first to be cast in the show. At 12 years old he plays scene-stealer, Dustin who's pretty much everyone's favourite character.

He's 16 in season 3 and has spent much of his time outside of work raising awareness for cleidocranial dysplasia, a condition that was written into the script for his character.
Caleb McLaughlin / Lucas Sinclair
Caleb was probably the most experienced actor cast to play the sci-fi hit. When he landed the role at 13 years old, he had previously starred on Broadway in Disney's The Lion King as Simba.

Now 17, Caleb has partnered with Planet Fitness to get more younger people in the gym.
Noah Schnapp / Will
Despite being the youngest member of the crew at 11 in series 1, Noah had already voiced Charlie Brown in 2015's 'The Peanuts Movie'.

Noah, who's now 14 will be playing a young lad who smuggles Jewish children into Spain to save them from Nazis in Waiting for Anya.
Season 3 of Stranger Things is coming to your screen this Thursday and he's set to be gorier than ever. The young actor said: "It's definitely gorier, which is pretty cool.
"If you don't like gore stuff, I mean, watch it anyway. It's not for the faint of heart, as some would say."
The new series of Stranger Things will also see the return of Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers) and David Harbour (Jim Hopper) in supporting roles.
