Some of the cast of the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy have come together to have a little chat during lockdown.

Disney star and Hollywood actor Josh Gad has been getting celebrities together for online chats during the pandemic, as part of the Reunited Apart series. But it wouldn't be complete if he didn't gather some of the actors from one of the biggest movie trilogies of all time.

This time, he got Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan and Orlando Bloom together for a chat, and rounded it off with the incredible Sir Ian McKellen.

A few jokes are flung during the near-four minute clip, but the best part comes at the end when Gandalf actor Sir Ian appears on screen, and he and Elijah perform a scene from The Fellowship of the Ring.

Frodo says: "I wish the ring had never come to me, I wish none of this had happened.

Gandalf replies with: "So do all who live to see such times but that is not for them to decide, All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you."

Since being posted onto YouTube, the video has been watched nearly 200,000 times and people have been going wild in the comments.

One person wrote: "When McKellen showed up I almost screamed."

Another added: "When I heard Ian as Gandalf, I literally got goosebumps."

But if The Lord of the Rings isn't your thing, and you're more of a Goonies fan then you'll be delighted to know that a reunion for that movie also happened, a couple of weeks ago.

Stars of the show all made appearances, including Sean Astin (again), Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman and Cyndi Lauper, along with executive producer Steven Spielberg and director Richard Donner.

The reunion took place on Zoom, of course, as all the cast members are in quarantine, and soon they were all reciting some of the best lines and even talking about an actual reunion.
