Actor Michael K. Williams has been found dead.

The Emmy Award-winning actor and star from hit TV show The Wire was discovered in his apartment, according to the New York Post.

His long-time rep Marianna Shafran of Shafran PR confirmed the tragic news with The Hollywood Reporter: "It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Emmy nominated actor Michael Kenneth Williams.

"They ask for your privacy while grieving this unsurmountable loss."

He was just 54.
