Chris Hemsworth has revealed Thor: Love and Thunder has finished filming in Australia.

The leading man posted the news to Instagram where he also celebrated National Don't Flex Day, which must be difficult for the stacked actor.

He wrote alongside a photo of him and Thor director Taika Waititi: "That's a wrap on Thor: Love and Thunder, it's also national don't flex day so I thought this super relaxed photo was appropriate.

"The film is gonna be bats**t crazy off the wall funny and might also pull a heart string or two. Lots of love, lots of thunder!

"Thank you to all the cast and crew who made this another incredible Marvel journey. Buckle in, get ready and see ya in cinemas!!"

Now that the movie is done filming, audiences around the world can get excited for the first official trailer.

Speaking of the new film, Taika Waititi said it 'makes Ragnarok seem like a really run of the mill, very safe film' - can you imagine?

The director has been inspired by the comic book series when it comes to Jane's powers.

In Ragnarok, Jane turned into Thor and wielded his hammer, but every time Jane turned into Thor, the chemotherapy for her cancer treatment reversed.

Natalie Portman did confirm that Jane will be returning in Thor: Love and Thunder with the Norse god's powers and some of her own. We're not sure what powers she'll encapsulate, but in the comic book series, Jane's powers include creating illusions of herself and teleporting.

Chris added to ComicBookMovie last year: "It's of the best scripts I've read in years. It's Taika at his most extreme and best. If the version I read is the one we get running with, it's going to be pretty insane."

Alongside Chris and Natalie, Tessa Thompson will be returning as Valkyrie, King of New Asgard and Matt Damon is listed as playing 'Actor Loki'.

Christian Bale will return as the villain, Gorr the God Butcher, after first appearing in Thor: God of Thunder.

Russell Crowe is also a confirmed cast member for this latest instalment of Thor. He told Deadline his casting as Zeus is 'one of many surprises to come out of the film'.

Thor: Love and Thunder is currently set to be released in cinemas on 6th May 2022. The other three Thor movies are available to watch on Disney+ if you fancy a recap before the new film.
