The coronavirus pandemic has seen artists forced to halt plans to tour, and for Brit babe YUNGBLUD - aka Dom Harrison - going into lockdown has only fuelled his drive to get back on stage to see the people he loves most - his fans.

Speaking to LADBible Australia, Dom spoke of his excitement ahead of the release of his latest album WEIRD! -December 4 - as well as the exciting news that he's set to head Down Under in September 2021 for his Life On Mars tour across Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney.

"I love Australia so much," Dom told LADBible.

"It's f**king beautiful weather and everyone's f**king hilarious.

"Last time I was there, I came straight from Australia from doing Falls Festival straight to recording the album and I was still in the Aussie mindset, and I remember someone's like, 'Hey, do you like my sweater?' And I was like, 'No, I fucking don't like it, you look like a yeti!'

"And everyone in Australia would have been like, 'F**k yeah c**t, that's hilarious! 'Cos they have great banter. But over here I was offending people left, right and centre!"

Known for unapologetically embracing his fierce individuality and encouraging his legion of loyal fans to do the same, Dom hoped that his latest album would help those who find themselves outside the realm of what is considered 'normal' in today's world.

"I wanted to write an album for like, the weirdest years of our lives," he said.

"Like, even if there wasn't a pandemic going on right now. There is but even if there wasn't, I would want this to be about the weirdest f**king years of our lives that we all go through in terms of gender in terms of sex, in terms of sexuality, in terms of drugs, in terms of love, heartbreak, depression, happiness, sadness - all of the above, you know?

"I wanted it to be an album full of f**king truth. Too much music right now has an agenda. I want to write music for a reason.

"This album is legitimately about every kid in every continent, of every size or shape, every colour, every sexuality of every f**king point of view and the way they have completely shaped my life.

"Like, I finally belong somewhere, man! And when you feel like you belong in some way it feel like you have lungs for the first time, like you can actually f**king breathe!"

WEIRD! is out now via Locomotion/ Interscope Records.
