Avicii Announces Retirement From Touring After Raking In A Total Fortune

This is arguably the worst thing that's happened to music since Michael Jackson's death.

Obviously that's not true, MJ was the King of Pop, but similarly Avicii is the king of EDM. The genre of music that plays in all the nightclubs you wished you could stop going to but you can't because shots of Sourz are 60p.

"I've decided this 2016 run will be my last tour and last shows," wrote Avicii in a hefty post uploaded to his official website yesterday.

Continuing he wrote: "One part of me can never say never, I could be back ...but I won't be right back", but he'll probably be back in a few years to collect those comeback tour paychecks.

He then went on to thank his "peers in the business for building a new movement that took the world by storm."

EDM did take the world by storm (for better or for worse), so you can't deny that. He also got incredibly rich off it as he's stated as the world's 6th richest DJ.

However, Las Vegas superclubs have recently deemed the scene "uncool" and stopped endorsing the genre. Does Avicii's retirement have anything to do with that? Who knows.

Most bizarrely of all he then gave the internet his phone number so you can chat to him about it: "so you can text me re all this +46769436383. Please bare with me I might not be super quick to reply."

Anyway, fare well Tim Bergling (Avicii) we'll look forward to your V Fest 2019 shows.
