Darude Announced To Represent Finland In The Eurovision Song Contest 2019

Well, if we needed any more reasons to get it on the telly...

The Eurovision Song Contest is a bloody brilliant excuse to get yourself absolutely legless. All it takes is one little suggestion of 'take a drink if...' and you've got yourself a night of amusement.

You could drink every time something fucks up, every time a wind machine is used or every time someone wears an utterly wacky outfit. You could even up the ante: shots, shots, shots whenever fireworks go off, or just neck your bev when someone falls over - come on, it's bound to happen.

But if there was ever a reason to celebrate Eurovision, other than the myriad opportunities it presents for getting totally annihilated, it may well be this one - it's been announced that Darude will represent Finland in Tel Aviv.

The DJ, best known for his hit 'Sandstorm', will release three tracks - one each on 8, 15 and 22 February - with singer Sebastian Rejman, with a live broadcast on 2 March to determine which one will become his Eurovision entry.

According to the Metro, the DJ - real name Ville Virtanen - said: "This is a huge challenge for me in many ways. When I was asked to represent Finland I felt a bit scared at first, but there was no way I could say no to my country!

"It is an honour to be part of this incredible experience and I only have positive expectations!"

If you're familiar with the Finnish DJ's most popular song, of course, you'll know that it's largely instrumental.

Luckily for us, this led to some brave soul taking the time to notate all of the 'lyrics' to 'Sandstorm', and you can find them with a cursory Google search.

OK, it's actually not that much help, because most of them are things like:

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun

Don't lie, you just read that in the rhythm of the track. That is exactly the reason that this is such important work.

So now you know: if you're ever feeling low and need some uplifting inspiration to get you through the day, just remember these key words: "Nyu nyu nyu nyu nyu nnyu nyu nyu nyu nyu nyu nyu nyu nyu nyu nyu doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo nnn nn nn nn nn nn n nn nnn nn nn nnn nnn nnnnnnnn.

"Dddddddd ddadadadadaddadadadadadaadadadadadad."
