Demi Lovato Ripped For Sharing Two Very Different Photos Of Turkeys

Well, it was Thanksgiving after all

Singer Demi Lovato has been receiving a fair bit of stick online - unusual right? - because she shared a picture to her Instagram in which she was cuddling a turkey, then followed it up with a picture of a lovely looking roast turkey at Thanksgiving.

The 28-year-old was only doing what literally every American - bar the vegetarians - does at this time of the year, cooking up a delicious bird for her Thanksgiving Thursday dinner, but most of the folks who enjoy that particular tradition hadn't shared a picture of a 'pet' turkey at a farm very recently before.

You see, Demi appears to have visited an animal sanctuary recently and got to grips with some of the animals there, including a lovely turkey.

Demi captioned her Thanksgiving roast photo 'I'm thankful for all of you' - meaning her followers - but she presumably started to feel less thankful when plenty of them started tearing strips of her like a delicious holiday roast.

One person wrote: "TODAY IN CRINGE: Demi Lovato poses with turkey in photo promoting animal sanctuary that fights animal agriculture,

"Demi later makes turkey for Thanksgiving"

Another said: "I had to scroll up again because i thought i saw Demi Lovato holding a turkey

"Turns out there was, indeed, Demi Lovato holding a turkey"

A third wrote: "Demi Lovato adopting a turkey to cook it anyway has sent me, I'm spiralling."

Anyway, it's worth pointing out that she didn't take the turkey from the sanctuary to eat it. The two turkeys are separate birds.

Some of her fans have also jumped to point out that Demi has had a difficult time recently, and perhaps shouldn't be overly criticised for eating a turkey at Thanksgiving, which is a fair point.

One Twitterer said: "People attacked Demi Lovato for posting a glass of water once then tried to cancel her for squeezing a lemon because they said she was 'mocking' someone,

"And now they are trying to cancel her for eating turkey and celebrating thanksgiving y'all see the problem?"

As for the farm sanctuary that she visited - who have presumably enjoyed the publicity, even though it's a strange one - they wrote: "The turkeys were so excited to meet Demi Lovato at our California Sanctuary,

"Thanks for visiting, Demi, we loved having you!

"Choose compassion this Thanksgiving and sponsor one of our rescued turkeys."

'Sponsor' is an interesting word for what happened to the next turkey to feature on Demi's timeline.
