Drake Booed Off Stage During Surprise Show At Camp Flog Gnaw

When a surprise guest was billed at Tyler, the Creator's festival Camp Flog Gnaw, there were rumours knocking around about who it could possibly be.

So when Drake took to the stage on the Sunday night of the two day Los Angeles event, some people were - shall we say - shocked.

In fact, part-way through his performance, people began to voice their thoughts on Drake's appearance. And many of them were not happy. In fact, a lot of them were booing and chanting Frank's name.

Awkward to say the least.

The cringe AF video, has surfaced online and has been posted thousands of times.

Drake can be seen telling the crowd: "If you want me to keep going, I'll keep going."

To that, fans started booing even louder - and in a break after a song this was even more apparent. When Drake asked if the crowd wanted to keep going, their answer was clearly in the negative.

In fairness to the Canadian rapper, he took it pretty well - considering he'd just been rejected by a full crowd of people at his mate's festival. He walked off-stage, saying: "It's been love. I love y'all. I go by the name of Drake, thank you for having me."

But the gig wasn't a total disaster - other footage shows Drake's entrance in which plenty of adoring fans can be seen and heard screaming and singing along to his 2013 single 'Started From The Bottom'.

He also cheered when he dedicated his set to his pal Tyler, the Creator. The artist has been running the Camp Flog Gnaw event each year since 2012.

Drake said at the start: "I'm doing this for my brother Tyler, who started this [event] from nothing. That's not easy. Tonight, I felt like I had to touch this stage because I'm proud of my brothers, I'm proud of you."

Other artists have spoken out in support of Drake.

US singer Abra tweeted: "Drake is one person having to give life and energy to a crowd of ungrateful people. To try and pull off a hype/fun show in the face of a sea of humans booing at you... I can't even imagine what that would do to my spirit."

Photographer and radio host Michelle Grace Hunder posted: "Just watched the Drake video. That is brutal. Made me feel sick."

Camp Flog Gnaw 2019 also saw performances from Solange, FKA Twigs and more.
