Eminem Calls Out 'Mumble Rappers' In His Surprise New Album

Eminem dropped a surprise new album last night and, of course, it included plenty of disses - including shots at mumble rappers

Eminem isn't exactly known for mincing his words, but even by his own high standards, his latest track is pretty controversial.

He dropped a surprise new album, Kamikaze, last night and it featured a final track that calls out just about every new rapper in the game.

Eminem takes special aim at so-called mumble rap, with the likes of Lil Yachty, Lil Pump and Lil Xan coming in for disses, while proving that he doesn't just hate people with Lil in their name by comparing them unfavourably to Lil Wayne.

"Get this fuckin' audio out my audio, adios/I can see why people like Lil Yachty, but not me though/Not even dissin', it just ain't for me/All I am simply is just an MC," he raps.

He follows that with "Lil Pump, Lil Xan imitate Lil Wayne/I should aim at everybody in the game, pick a name" and "I heard your mumbling but it's jumbled in mumbo-jumbo/The era that I'm from will pummel you/That's what it's comin' to."

Elsewhere on the album, he calls out Tyler the Creator - "Tyler create nothing, I see why you called yourself a - bitch" - and Drake, referencing the scandal around him allegedly nicking a hook: "Put me on a track, I go cray on it like a color book/You got some views, but you're still below me/Mine are higher so when you compare our views you get overlooked/And I don't say a hook unless I wrote the hook."

The rap veteran - a title that will make a significant portion of people feel dreadfully old - has form for taking on his contemporaries. Just a sample of his previous targets include fellow musicians Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Will Smith and *NSYNC (all in the same song, The Real Slim Shady), power couples Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom, Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson and Mariah Carey and Nick Canon and Kim Kardashian, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lopez, Michael Jackson, Elvis, Madonna, Rihanna...I could go on.

Oh, and on his most recent album, he makes a special dig at Donald Trump, claiming that the President had the Secret Service investigate him, rapping: "Cause Agent Orange sent the Secret Service to meet in person / To see if I really think of hurtin' him / Or ask if I'm linked to terrorists."
