Dave Grohl - the most wholesome man in rock music - has admitted defeat and conceded to the 10-year-old girl who challenged him to a drum battle.

The Foo Fighters frontman competed against Nandi Bushell for months and now it looks as through the winner has been revealed. Congrats, Nandi.

Speaking to Stephan Colbert on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Dave said: "Sometimes you just have to concede defeat."

He went on: "It was like being called out by the school bully like 'I'll see you on the playground after school'. Every time she would put one of these videos on [social media] I just thought oh my God, I'm going to get my ass kicked again. It just happened over and over again."

Talking about how things began, Dave said: "About a year ago, Nirvana's producer sent me a link to her Instagram. She's 10 years old, she's tiny. And she's just beating the crap out of her drum set. When she does drum rolls she screams.

"I'm like 'oh my God', this kid is a force of nature and she's an amazing drummer."

Replying to Nandi after she challenged him, Grohl decided to write a song for the youngster.

Posting the heartwarming clip to the Foo Fighters' Twitter account, the 51-year-old musician said: "Ok Nandi, you got me. You win round one. But I got something special for you, something you've never heard before. Something I've never heard before, because I'm about to write this off the top of my head... for you."

The legend then gets into it. The lyrics are:

"Nandi, Nandi, Nandi, Nandi.

"Nandi, number one super girl.

"Nandi, best drummer in the world.

"Nandi, always right on time.

"Nandi, hero wunderkind.

"She got the power, she got the sound.

"Nandi on the drums makes the world go round.

"Nandi, she played Everlong.

"Nandi, but she can play anything.

"Nandi, coolest on the scene.

"Nandi, 21st century.

"She got the power, she got the soul.

"Gonna save the world with her rock and roll.

"She got the power, she got the scream.

"Everybody knows Nandi's the queen.

"Nandi, Nandi, Nandi, Nandi, queen of rock and roll, rock and roll!!"

What a LAD.
