Greg James Fails To Turn Up For His BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show After BRIT Awards

He's a "dirty little no show"

After a wild night out at the BRIT Awards last night, BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James failed to show up for work on time this morning. Oh dear, oh dear.

To be fair to Greg, we've all done it, you've perhaps gone a bit far the night before, three pints has turned into four, into five, into shots...

You get the drill.

However, most of us aren't then supposed to get up and be chirpy on a national broadcaster the following day. Hell, we can't all have the stamina of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

Well, this morning, 34-year-old Radio 1 breakfast presenter Greg James had to be replaced at the start of his show by Adele Roberts because he simply didn't manage to get there on time.

The show, which starts at 06:30AM each morning during the week, started as usual at the same time as every other day, but instead of Greg's dulcet tones, listeners were greeted by a surprised Roberts announcing her presence, and going a little way towards explaining what had happened to the usual presenter.

She announced: "Yeah about that, Radio 1 Breakfast with Adele Roberts - I can't believe this is happening."

Roberts went on to describe her BBC colleague as a 'dirty little no show' and appealed to fans and listeners for information regarding his whereabouts.

Here he is, before last night's storm.

She asked them: "Has anyone seen him, on anyone's Instagram?

"The last I saw him was...you know Grace on Breakfast, he was on Grace's Instagram Stories about midnight.

"I saw a flash of him with Yannis from Foals.

"If you do spot him, please do send him our way."

Luckily, Roberts then reassured everyone by adding that Greg 'is very much safe and sound and very much asleep at the moment'.

However, 'he's also very much in trouble'.

Well, that's what you can expect if you don't tip up to one of the country's most popular radio shows. Unlike some other jobs, people are going to notice.

He saw it coming, too.

We should have known...

Last night, Greg posted on his Instagram account, to say: "All the best ones won. Foals, Dave (PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT BY A MILLION MILES), Celeste, Mabel, Billie, Capaldi, Stormzy.

"What a night. 6:30am is gonna be fun."

Well, it's not fun for everyone who has to watch your back Greg!

However, it's hard to be too critical. There but for the grace of God, go us all.
