If you're an 80s or 90s Aussie kid, then you'll know what it was like enjoying pop music as you grew up.

There was none of this Spotify or Apple Music around to allow you to stream all the music you were loving at the moment. You'd either have to listen to the radio and hope your song would come on or buy boatloads of CDs and keep switching them up when you wanted a different artist.

Then the year 2000 hit and we were blessed with the humble So Fresh CDs.

Every season change brought with it a compilation of the hottest tracks that we couldn't get enough of and we were finally in music heaven.

Want Britney Spears, NSYNC, Simple Plan and J Lo all on one CD? So Fresh was your answer.

Well, if you've been missing that style of musical nirvana then do we have a treat for you: a music festival is hitting Melbourne next month and it will play nothing but songs from those CDs.

So Freshtival will be at Welcome to Thornbury in Victoria's capital on November 23 and nearly 600 people are already attending.

According to the Facebook event, it will feature music from the likes of 50 Cent, Ashanti, Avril Lavigne, Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, Destiny's Child, Hannah Montana, Jesse McCartney, Lizzie McGuire, LMFAO, Mariah Carey, Nelly, Nelly Furtado, Nikki Webster, Outkast, Rihanna, S Club 7, Shaggy, Shania Twain, Smash Mouth, The Veronicas and many more.

There will be a ball pit, jumping castle, free face painting, free Chupa Chupas and fairy floss and, wait for it...a goddamn guest DJ set from Shrek.

They're also holding a competition for the best outfits, so get ready to bust out your best Juicy Couture tracksuit and Von Dutch hat.
