Miley Cyrus Shows Off Biggest Transformation Yet At This Year's Grammys

The pop singer and former Disney Channel star looked a far cry from her twerking routine five years ago as she sang a duet with Elton John.

Even though she's still early into her career, Miley Cyrus has proven to be more of a chameleon than most, changing her identity more often than some stars do for decades.

It's easy to forget now that the 25-year-old singer burst into the scene in the Disney Channel show Hannah Montana, portraying an average girl who leads a double life as a pop sensation.

But, as Britney Spears also found, Miley decided being a squeaky clean teen idol was a bit boring. That led Miley to rebel massively as she entered her twenties - remember her infamous twerking routine at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards? Or writhing around naked in the video for Wrecking Ball?

Just two years ago, it looks like Miley had ditched the goody-two-shoes act for good - wearing revealing clothes at awards parties, having full-frontal nude photo shoots with Terry Richardson and telling people how much she just loved getting stoned.

But that edgy Miley looks to have been a phase as she's chilled out significantly in recent years, dropping the drugs and going full cowboy-hat country pop on her latest record Younger Now.

Now she looks to have made her biggest transformation yet, as she showed up to the Grammys in a flowing floor-length ruby gown and pulled off a smooth duet with the legend Elton John. Who would have seen that one coming?

Yep, at yesterday's Grammy Awards ceremony at New York's Madison Square Garden, Miley rocked up in a classy Zac Posen gown, which made many compare her in looks to a Disney princess.

She then looked entirely at home singing classic Elton tune Tiny Dancer with him, grinning from ear to ear as the pair received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Afterwards, she even spoke of her admiration of Elton, posting to her Instagram page: "Sir Elton John, I can't thank you enough for giving me the honor of performing with you tonight at The Grammys!

"I've loved every moment I've spent with you over the years & will cherish each second of your kindness .... let's kick ass and keep fighting for an end to the AIDS epidemic!

"Everything you do inspires me to keep workin hard and never giving up on all my dreams! Love you dearly!"

Will this softer Miley be around for good, or will she transform again for her next album cycle? Only time will tell.
