One of the writers of Maroon 5's hit song 'Moves Like Jagger has 'ruined childhoods' by revealing that the song is not about dancing.
Benny Blanco produced the track and wrote it alongside Ammar Malik, Johan Karl Schuster and - conveniently - Maroon 5's Adam Levine.

He shared a clip on TikTok of the song alongside the words: "I was today years old when I realised he is not singing about dance moves even though I wrote this song in 2010."
He captioned the clip: "I just ruined everyone on TikTok's childhood."
Reading the lyrics, it does seem as though at least some of the lyrics may be about dancing, but others are very clearly about something quite rude. Either way, with three other songwriters on board, I think it's fair to question Blanco's interpretation. The verse goes:
You wanted control so we waited
I put on a show now we're naked

Hmmm. Things get a bit steamy in the chorus too:
Take me by the tongue and I'll know you
Kiss me 'til you're drunk and I'll show you all the moves like Jagger
I've got the moves like Jagger
Sexy time? Dancing? Maybe it's about both. Either way, it seems as though many people are now looking back at their early memories of the song in a different way.
One person wrote: "Thank you for letting me sing this song in the car with my mom at age seven completely clueless."

Another added: "The more I actually listen to the words the more I realise."
While someone else wrote: "I haven't listened to this song in years and now I'm older, I'm weirded out that six year old me knew all the words."
But not everyone was left reeling by the revelation, as one person replied: "You literally wrote the soundtrack to my childhood."

And another wrote: "You are the CEO of all our childhoods."
So I guess he's forgiven then?
Last week, folks were left shocked after discovering the actual lyrics to Lady Gaga's hit 'Poker Face'.
The lyrics to the song go: "Po-po-po-poker face, fu-fu-f*** her face (Mum-mum-mum-mah), Po-po-po-poker face, fu-fu-f*** her face (Mum-mum-mum-mah)."

Yep, there's been a hidden f-bomb in there all along and we never realised.
The newly discovered lyrics left many social media users gobsmacked.
Taking to Facebook, one person wrote: "So just seen a Facebook post about Lady Gaga 'Poker Face' and how the lyrics are not po po po po poker face I can safely say I'm [mind blown emoji] and shall now be replacing the lyrics with the correct ones."
Another added: "Mind BLOWN that Lady Gaga doesn't sing 'p-p-p-poker face p-p-poker face'. They're not the lyrics. Life is a lie."
A third person posted: "I'm today years old when I found out the real lyrics to 'Poker Face' - childhood ruined."
