The Pussycat Dolls haven't had the smoothest ride since making their comeback last year.

Following a divisive performance on The X Factor last year, the pop group suffered a tech blunder on The One Show.

Nicole Scherzinger and Co were on last night's (February 26) episode of the BBC series to perform their new track 'React'.

Following a Q&A with the group, presenter Matt Baker later announced them to the stage, telling crowds: "Now performing their new single, it's the Pussycat Dolls."

However, as the cheering died down in anticipation of what was to come... nothing happened.

Due to a technical mishap, the girls missed their cue to start the song and were left standing there for what seemed like the longest thirty seconds ever while Nicole's vocals blasted out from the sound system.

The producers were on the case and Matt was quick to run back on-screen to re-introduce the girls, shouting, "The Pussycat Dolls!"

The second run went far smoother, and Nicole, Jessica Sutta, Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt were able to hear the track kicking in, continuing their performance as if nothing happened.

Still, plenty of viewers were left cringing at the gaffe, with one writing on Twitter, "That was embarrassing the #pussycatdolls miming on The One Show."

"Awks Pussycat Dolls on The One Show tonight & their ear pieces weren't working and the hosts had to reintroduce them," wrote another, while a third added: "Someone on The One Shows gonna get a clawing from the Pussycat Dolls after that performance."

Blunder aside, other fans were quick to point out the racy act, including one who said: "I'm no prude but that routine was positively pornographic."

The Pussycat Dolls announced their reunion back in November 2019, with the group returning to the studio to record a new album ahead of a worldwide tour this year.

Hitting the stage on The X Factor for the first time in ten years, the girls wore mesh and pleather outfits and had a choreographed routine to go with it, which they ended by being soaked in water.

While many fans loved the comeback performance, a fair few argued it wasn't suitable to be shown before the 9pm watershed.

The matter was brought up again shortly after on an episode of Gogglebox, where it garnered some hilarious reactions.

Most notably, Sophie (from the brother and sister Blackpool duo) said: "She's wearing one giant tight and a bit of Gaffer tape," before adding: "I've seen more of their beavers than I have of my own! Bloody disgusting!"
