Samuel L. Jackson Confirms The Prince Basketball Story From The 'Dave Chapelle Show' Is True

Prince was an artist who will always be shrouded in mystery in one way or another. It's part of what made him great, that and his phenomenal musical talents.

One of these stories that people were unsure of is the odd basketball story from The Dave Chapelle Show.

Basically, for those unsure, on this memorable sketch from Chappelle's Show, Charlie Murphy told a tale of him and his mate taking on Prince and his crew in a game of basketball, and Prince dominated the game. Also, he served them pancakes.

This is amazing for a few reasons: Firstly the thought of Prince whipping up pancakes is magical, and Prince was a very small man, he was also apparently dressed in his trademark androgynous style during it all.

It almost became a viral myth, before the days of things going viral.

Some believe it too good to be true though, understandably.

It even inspired a Prince song titled 'Breakfast Can Wait'.

Anyway, Samuel L. Jackson seems to have confirmed that it is actually true. Jackson, who has starred in a basketball movie himself (Coach Carter) took to Instagram to post this picture of himself with Prince at a Lakers game on Christmas Day one year.

The picture came complete with the caption: "Laker game one Christmas Day. Looks like we were losing. He did confirm the Charlie Murphy Bball story, though. "They had on Church Shoes"!"

So there we go, now we know. Prince was great at basketball, great at music, dressed great, Prince was great.
