Something Utterly Magical Happens When You Leave David Bowie's 'Blackstar' LP In The Sun

Another surprise.

Even in death, Bowie lived his art. His Blackstar LP was a testament to that. His long-time producer called the record a 'parting gift' to his fans, and when you listen to the record, it's clear Bowie was telling us farewell.

The jazz-influenced off-kilter seven track album was unapologetically abstract and it's a gift that keeps on giving, literally.

One fan found this out after someone left the LP exposed to sunlight. Posting on Imgur he shared this image with the caption: 'A friend discovered that if you expose the Blackstar gatefold to sunlight a starfield appears. What a beautiful secret.'

Remarkable right? However, note that it's just the gatefold, do not expose the actual vinyl, you'll totally ruin it. It serves as another little reminder that the man's creativity seemed to know no bounds at all.

While Blackstar served as Bowie's last body of work, he was actually working on even more material right up until his death.

"At that late stage, he was planning the follow-up to Blackstar, and I was thrilled," long-serving producer Tony Visconti told Rolling Stone back at the start of the year.

Coincidentally, Blackstar is the best-selling LP (vinyl) of the past 12 months in the UK.
