Thanks to films like Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro and Howl's Moving Castle, Japanese animation company Studio Ghibli has become known for its incredible story telling and a plethora of memorable characters. However, the music that soundtracks its films also has plenty of fans.

And if you've been waiting for the music to make an appearance online then rest assured, the studio has now got you covered.

Music from nearly all of Studio Ghibli's 23 films has been uploaded to music streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play and YouTube Music.

The studio hasn't been able to get all the rights to the 1988 classic Grave of the Fireflies, so you'll have to find some other way of listening to the score from that film. Still, if you're looking for the rest of its catalogue, then you're sorted.

In addition to that, Studio Ghibli has released 15 'image albums' - music inspired by the raft of movies it has produced. That takes the total number of pieces of music now available for your listening pleasure to 693.

Apple Music's editor writes: "Music has long played a central role at Japan's Ghibli, heightening the whimsy and drama of the studio's beloved animated films.

"Prolific composer Joe Hisaishi has created delicate and sweeping orchestral pieces for directors like Hayao Miyazaki, while pop-based theme songs for films such as My Neighbour Totoro and Ponyo have been delighting listeners around the globe for decades."

This comes hot off the back of Netflix's announcement that loads of Studio Ghibli films would be coming to the streaming platform next month.

With 21 movies being added, viewers will be getting a good glimpse of the studio's work from its early days in the 1980s right through to 2014's When Marnie Was There.

According to the BBC, the films will be available to anyone with a Netflix account 'outside of the US, Canada and Japan'.

Castle in the Sky (1986), My Neighbor Totoro (1988), Kiki's Delivery Service (1989), Only Yesterday (1991), Porco Rosso (1992), Ocean Waves (1993) and Tales From Earthsea (2006) were all added at the start of February.

Then, from 1 March, they'll also be able to feast on Nausicaä Of The Valley Of The Wind (1984), Princess Mononoke (1997), My Neighbors The Yamadas (1999), Spirited Away (2001), The Cat Returns (2002), Arrietty (2010) and The Tale Of The Princess Kaguya (2013).

These will all be followed on 1 April by Pom Poko (1994), Whisper Of The Heart (1995), Howl's Moving Castle (2004), Ponyo On The Cliff By The Sea (2008), From Up On Poppy Hill (2011), The Wind Rises (2013) and When Marnie Was There (2014).
