Taylor Swift Will Perform At Melbourne Cup 2019

The annual Melbourne Cup brings a racecourse-load of people together to get absolutely pissed while watching horses race around a track.

It's the 'race that stops a nation', however it seems like this year's event is going to have a little more star power.

International pop sensation Taylor Swift has been confirmed to be performing for all those frocked up people.

Writing on Instagram, the Flemington Race Club said: "The VRC is SUPER excited to announce ten-time GRAMMY Award-winning, record-breaking global superstar @TaylorSwift will be performing at Flemington on @LexusAustralia Melbourne Cup Day!

"The American singer-songwriter will sing two of her latest hits in the Mounting Yard ahead of 'the race that stops a nation' in what will be Taylor's only public appearance in Australia following the release of her critically-loved smash seventh studio album Lover."

Fans will no doubt be mad that it will be her only performance in Australia however if you want to get amongst the action then you'll have to snap up tickets fast.

It'll be hilarious if when the cameras pan across the sea of people at the event that instead of suits and beautiful dresses you just have Taylor Swift stans in their 1989 tour t-shirts from four years ago. =
