New Incredibly Gory TV Drama Is Being Called The 'Next Killing Eve'

Ragdoll comes from the same creators as Killing Eve but it's about a body hanging from the ceiling made up of six different body parts

There's a new show in town which could be set to follow in the footsteps of Killing Eve. Here's the trailer for Ragdoll:

The six-part thriller is based on Daniel Cole's book of the same title is made by the same people who worked on Killing Eve... which could explain the comparisons.

The show, which is available on Alibi, follows DS Nathan Rose (played by Henry Lloyd-Hughes) who has just been reinstated to the London police when he and his colleagues, newly promoted DI Baxter (played by Thalissa Teixeira) and young American ingenue, DC Edmunds (Pretty Little Liars’ Lucy Hale) are called to a grim discovery in a block of flats.

A 'ragdoll' hangs from the ceiling, made up of six different body parts - from different people.

When a hit list is released naming more victims due to die, the team are in a race against time.

According to Henry Lloyd-Hughes, despite being a thriller, the show features some comedy in equal measure to the drama.

He explained: "I would describe Ragdoll as a horror thriller that’s also really funny.

“I know that’s a strange combination, but all of those elements are at play; it’s genuinely scary, but also taut, and fast-paced – in fact, I under-estimated on the page how much of an action series it was.

"It’s like a Korean-style thriller that also has that vein of really British humour.”

He went on to add: "It's bonkers. I genuinely defy anyone to say one second of it is boring; it’s like the least boring show I’ve ever seen.

"But what brought me to the role was Freddy Syborn, who is the writer and showrunner. His take on the police universe is genuinely unique."

Lloyd-Hughes continued: "He’s a brilliant writer, and, when it comes to seeing a thrilling, adrenalin-filled police world, he’s the perfect man to take us there.

"Having humour and darkness in equal measure is very satisfying as an actor because you have to push those things all the time."

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "Four episodes into Ragdoll, some episodes are more Seven/Mindhunter and others are like Killing Eve. Still a solid British thriller."

Another added: "I am absolutely loving the UK series Ragdoll. It’s a police procedural, but not of the CSI bent. By the same people who did Killing Eve."

You can watch Ragdoll on Alibi now.
