It seems The Force is particularly strong with United Airlines right now, as the company has announced it's unveiling a special Star Wars-themed Boeing 737-800 next month. That's right, guys: A STAR WARS PLANE.

Celebrating the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker - which hits cinemas in December - the unique aircraft will take flight in November, making its way through Canada, Central America, the Caribbean and the US.

The plane will have a snazzy exterior paint job, featuring everything from X-wing and TIE fighter starships through to a giant lightsaber on the tail.

But that's just the beginning. As passengers step on the plane, they'll be treated to Star Wars music, before receiving a commemorative pin and themed amenity kits including tissues, earplugs, a toothbrush and skincare products from Sunday Riley.

There's also a special plaque marking the partnership between the two huge brands, along with headrests that bear the emblems of the Resistance and the First Order.

They've even released a Star Wars-inspired safety announcement video 'promoting safety in galaxies both near and far, far away', which features brief cameos from R2-D2 and C-3PO.

Mark Krolick, United Airlines' Vice President of Marketing, said in a statement: "United Airlines and the Star Wars franchise share a common goal: connect people and unite the world.

"We are thrilled to join forces and help promote the concluding chapter of the Skywalker story, while at the same time enlisting help from our new friends from the Star Wars universe to demonstrate the importance of safety for our customers and colleagues."

Doug Chiang, Vice President and Executive Creative Director of Lucasfilm, worked with his in-house designers to dream-up the concept.

He said: "Approaching the design for United Airlines was unlike anything I had ever done before.

"I typically design for a flat screen when I design for films... an airplane fuselage presented a broad and exciting canvas."

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will conclude the Skywalker saga this December, marking the culmination of nine films released over 42 years.

The official synopsis reads: "Lucasfilm and director J.J. Abrams join forces once again to take viewers on an epic journey to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the riveting conclusion of the seminal Skywalker saga, where new legends will be born and the final battle for freedom is yet to come."

It will be released in the UK on 19 December and in the United States on 20 December.
