Sony Says Marvel Will Produce Three More Spider-Man Films

Sony Says Marvel Will Produce Three More Spider-Man Films

The franchise won’t end with Spider-Man: No Way Home

Sony has confirmed there will be at least three more Marvel Spider-Man movies after Spider-Man: No Way Home

Superhero fans had feared the upcoming flick could be the last in the franchise, however producer Amy Pascal told Fandango that there’s three more movies on the way with Holland as the webslinger.

Pascal said: "This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie.

"We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We're thinking of this as three films, and now we're going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies."

Spider-Man: No Way Home is released on 15 December in the UK and 17 December in the US.

And although for now plot details are being kept strictly under wraps, we do know that Peter Parker star Tom Holland actually influenced the ending himself after not being too impressed with how it was originally written.

Speaking to GQ, the British actor recalled his reaction to the original final scene - "Is this really f*****g happening? It's crazy," he thought, before admitting: "I kept stopping and being like, 'I'm so sorry, I just don't believe what I'm saying.'"

"[Director Jon Watts and I] sat down, we went through it, and we came up with a new idea," he explained to the publication. "Then we pitched it to the writers, they rewrote it, and it works great."

And, while there might be three more movies set to be produced, this sixth outing could be Holland’s last.

He told GQ: "Maybe it is time for me to move on. Maybe what's best for Spider-Man is that they do a Miles Morales film.

"Since I got cast as Spider-Man, I haven't really taken a break.

"I find myself ringing my dad [Dominic, a comedian and author] for stuff that I should definitely know how to do: 'Dad, how do I put the washing machine on?'"

But it seems as though he’s pretty happy about this situation, adding: "It's very strange. The last six years of my life, I always had a job to go to. It's kind of terrifying, but it's also really exciting.”
