Mia Khalifa has quit her role as co-host for Complex's sports talk show Out Of Bounds after just two months.

The former adult film star spent two months on the show but has now announced her departure to focus on other business ventures.

Speaking on the Lance Armstrong podcast, Forward, the 25-year-old said: "I didn't want to be in LA. It was my dream job but I walked away when I realised I wouldn't watch my own show.

"I love Complex but they were understanding when I said I wanted to leave."

Khalifa has now launched her own show on streaming service Switch.

She's also focussing efforts on cooking and plans to release a book.

"I'm a cook - I've been cooking since I could walk, all different cuisines," she explained.

"I'm in process of writing sample chapters. It's a story of my life through recipes."

Khalifa's time in sports journalism may have been short-lived but she certainly managed to cause a stir. Especially in the world of women's wrestling.

After she made comments saying that the sport was 'embarrassing', the former adult star received an invite from independent wrestler Thunder Rose, to attend Sabotage Wrestling's War of the Genders 2 show in Texas where she was put through her paces in a series of drills.

Khalifa had been in the news when she spoke out about Ronda Rousey's apparent impending switch from UFC to WWE, insisting she had no respect for the sport.

The sports presenter tweeted: "I will be here on January 19th. @thunderrose22 invited me so I can see how 'fake' wrestling really is, and I can't wait to laugh in all their faces #notimpressed."

WWE ace Eva Marie hit back at Khalifa's remarks on Rousey, saying: "You have to put your body through a lot of physicality with wrestling.

"You're saying you think it's fake, however when you get in the ring, you're really taking those bumps.

"Then when it comes to acting, you're trying to get out of yourself and be a whole other person, which also helps with WWE, too, because you're playing a character at the end of the day.

"Some moves are choreographed, so like you'll go over your finish, whoever's going to win or lose because that's predetermined.

"However, when you're in there, usually you're just going toe-to-toe.

"NFL, NBA, they all have off-seasons. Wrestling doesn't have an off-season.

"We're on the road 209 days out of the year, performing in different cities every single night.

"Where you have your NBA, and NFL and major league and they're taking charter flights going to the next city. We're driving in rent-a-cars to the next city."
