Paige Announces Retirement From WWE
WWE star Paige has announced her retirement from wrestling due to injuries sustained to her neck.
Twenty-five-year old Paige, originally from the UK, told a packed-out crowd of her plans to step out of the ring during Monday Night Raw at the New Orleans' Smoothie King Centre.
Looking visibly emotional as she addressed fans, Paige said: "I would like to thank every single female superstar back there today.
"Be proud to be a part of this division. We have all built this division to be something huge."
She went on to say it will 'always be her house'.
Following the announcement fans and fellow wrestlers have taken to Twitter to wish Paige all the best for the future and to thank her for contributions to WWE:
Feelings are bittersweet right now .. @RealPaigeWWE has been such a mentor to me since the day I got here. She is insanely talented and I know whatever chapter is to follow will be just as amazing as this one. :purple_heart: thank you Paige! #ABSOLUTION- Sonya Deville (@SonyaDevilleWWE) April 10, 2018

Many fans had been expecting this announcement for a while, after she was forced to pull out of a number of live events late last year when she was kicked during a tag-team match during the WWE Holiday Tour.
She fell to the ground following the kick and had to be stretchered off.
That injury came just months after she was forced to undergo surgery on her neck for another injury.
Paige, real name Saraya-Jade Bevis, also revealed last year that she had been left with baldness and stress-induced anorexia after her sex tape was leaked.
Opening up on the Chasing Glory With Lilian Garcia, Paige said: "When they came out I barricaded myself in the house for a couple of months. I was so sad to the point I was contemplating suicide.'
Remembering one particular rough encounter after the tape was leaked, she added: "I was out yesterday with my friend. We were just sitting there having a Bloody Mary. This guy comes up to my friend and says, "That's the porn star".'
"I cried in the toilet. I find it really hard to be close to anybody."
It's not clear what the future holds for Paige just yet, but she has recently just opened up 'The Saraya Store' in Anaheim, California, which she celebrated by getting a NSFW tattoo.
