McGregor's Agent Says 'Notorious Has Not Contemplated Losing To Mayweather'

His agent also reveals his biggest concern.

"Conor is going to win on Saturday, and he's going to do it because he's always believed, and he's put in the work and the entire team is working from the same thought process and the same work ethic," Conor McGregor's agent, Audie Attar, said when he sat down to chat to LADbible.

Conor McGregor faces Floyd Mayweather on Saturday August 26, at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.

It's a fight that, in the boxing world, has been labelled by some as 'a fucking insult', but, in the MMA world, is seen as a clash of 'two elites'.

Audie is feeling extremely confident about the fight; and so too is his client.

LADbible posed the question: "You keep saying, 'when McGregor wins', have you contemplated losing this fight?" - the answer was simple.

"No," Audie replied. "For Conor I'd say no, absolutely not. He doesn't let it creep into his mind, because he really wants to focus on what he knows he can affect and can control.

"Our thoughts are something we can control. It's important to remember that kind of confidence and resolve.

"And the same for me, ultimately, the thought process when we're asked these questions, and it comes into our conscious thinking when we respond to these kind of questions - I think the resounding answer from both of us would be, 'what do we have to lose?', there is nothing to lose and everything to gain. You have to keep your thoughts in check as well as your actions."

But, hold on. Surely, there is something to lose? A reputation. 'Notorious' is an MMA legend. He's gone big and bold on this fight. He's put down Floyd Mayweather on so many occasions during the press conferences.

"Look," responded Audie, "I think understanding perspectives is something me and Conor are intelligent enough to know exists, ultimately again for us, when you look at everything, when we quantify everything that works in our advantage; power, size difference, previous fights.

"Look at the Nate Diaz II fight. That was a war that went five rounds, that was all boxing, against a guy that was much bigger than us, in 4oz gloves, and we proved we had cardio.

"I understand it's only five rounds, but when you're receiving take downs, giving kicks, taking kicks, checking kicks, they are all forms of energy that I just don't think the general public understand what it does to the human body and how much energy you need to exert to give or take in those combat sports and MMA scenarios.

"Adding all those elements - plus that Conor is the only person that Floyd has never fought that is used to this pressure, used to this attention, this build-up - it's not phasing us, it's motivating us more.

"From a psychological factor, we're not going in there doubting anything - that's where we have a competitive advantage, that's why I believe that we are not letting any of the naysayers, devil's advocate, counter-perspectives even come into our conscious mind or way or thinking."

It's obvious that this could be McGregor's biggest victory to date, and regardless of which way it goes, it will be a night to remember.

Predictions for the fight are pretty pointless, nobody will know how the two boxers will behave when they get into the ring. However, both Conor, and now his agent (when chatting to LADbible) have made predictions.

Audie said: "Conor has made some public announcements [on the number of rounds for victory], once the gloves were reduced that became even shorter.

"He'd like to take him to 12 rounds and punish him and show him he has the cardio. He's going to be fighting his fight and determining where that is going to go. We still have the weigh-ins to go through, and at every point there is an exchange like that. There are still elements of the build-up that determines the energy that these two fighters bring into the ring with them.

"I'm just excited for him to go out there on Saturday and show his genius in relation to combat sports.

"He truly has a fighters IQ unlike anything I've ever seen, an athletic IQ unlike anything I've ever seen - he's worked towards that, it's not something he just talks about.

"When he goes in there, in a sport that he loves and respects in boxing, if he goes in there and inflicts his philosophy which is so new, and so unorthodox, but if they prove to be successful then I think he will lament his legacy as a fighter and truly as an expert in his field.

"He'll be able to introduce his theories and practices to a sport he loves and respects that has been around for a very long time, that has been the founding martial art that has become loved by everybody around the world."

Audie was keen to point out that Conor's victories have largely come from his boxing skills in MMA. He's studied Mayweather, from his early days when he was more offensive, to his more recent fights when he became increasingly defensive.

Mayweather has stated that he'll go offensive, something that could play into Conor's hands, but the trainers behind the Irishman have worked hard on various strategies.

Audie himself, has made a prediction, but has also stated some concerns about the fight.

"I think Conor takes it inside five rounds with a TKO or KO - that's my prediction. But I'm happy if he puts on a clinic for 12 rounds and still has a decisive victory.

"My concern is if it goes to the judges, and we have a decisive victory we could be screwed, that's an honest concern.

"Ultimately, with the physical attributes that we have a competitive advantage with, I'm hoping that it results in that TKO/KO victory."

Any victory will, as described by McGregor's agent, be his 'greatest victory to date'. And to celebrate, well, they're doing that already...

"That's what it's all about, continuous improvement. Always making tomorrow better than yesterday," Audie concluded.

He signed off with: "It's always the biggest party ever, it keeps getting better."

LADbible will keep you up to date with the latest action in the build-up and from the fight on Saturday night.
