It's no secret that Conor McGregor is full of confidence. The Irish fighter has taken himself from the job centre right to the precipice of the UFC, so really his cocksure attitude is justified.

In preparation for his boxing match with Floyd Mayweather, he's been taking to social media to update his followers on his training, while also assuring them that he will win the bout.

He's reaffirmed that with a recent post, showboating while sparring with former two-time world champion Paulie Malignaggi.

He uploaded a picture with his hands behind his back, something he has done previously in his historic fight with Eddie Alvarez.

Back in November he took the UFC 205 lightweight crown, defeating Alvarez in the second round in a dominating display, creating history by becoming the first ever dual-weight champion in the promotion.

During the fight he kept putting his hands behind his back, with many believing he was simply taking the piss out of his opponent.

However, after the fight he did reveal that it was something he'd picked up from training with an injured hand.

"My right hand was banged up from the [Nate] Diaz fight and my left foot was banged up from the Diaz fight," he said. "This [right hand] was out of action for the whole camp. That's where I developed that, putting me hands behind me back, because I was doing it in sparring.

"Sometimes I'd be [using] it in sparring and I'd jar it and it would be swelling up in the middle of the rounds. I just figured out ways to fight around it. So if the right hand was out of action, I'd bring in the right foot.

"When you go through these knocks and these wars, you get knocks and bruises. One time something is good and the next time it's not good. I've got to tuck shots in my pocket for a while but then I can take out other shots. If one limb is out of action, I've got other limbs. I've got other ways to attack."

This could be the case again, or, unsurprisingly, he could just be really confident.

Following the sparring session, Paulie Malignaggi praised Conor, as well as confirming that he's there to help him win the fight on August 26.

"I was a speed and reflex fighter, so is Floyd, so there's that," Malignaggi told ESPN. "I think they also picked me for my boxing brains and to give my two cents. If I'm there I'm there to help and do my part to improve him and get him ready for this big opportunity. I'd like to think there were several different reasons I was called. I am looking to make things happen for him."
