Drake made a surprise appearance by Conor McGregor's side at the weigh in for UFC 229 tonight in Las Vegas.

The Canadian singer was draped in the Irish flag as he joined the fighter on stage ahead of his showdown with undefeated Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov this weekend.

The fighters had to be pulled apart at the face-to-face though, as McGregor lashed out at Khabib with a kick.

The stage is all set for an almighty clash in Las Vegas this weekend after McGregor and Khabib both made fighting weight for their UFC 229 showdown.

The Notorious will be trying to break the Russian's unbeaten record when the pair square up in Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday morning - after a bad tempered build up that has seen McGregor label his opponent's manager a 'terrorist'.

Thousands of Irish fans flooded in to the T-Mobile Arena for the ceremonial weigh in to support their hero.

Earlier, McGregor had weighed in at 154.5lb, while Nurmagomedov came in at 154lb on the button.

The previous night's press conference was full of drama - thanks largely to McGregor being 20 minutes late due to 'traffic.'

His rival had already left by then, claiming the Irishman was 'disrespectful' and that he won't be shaking hands with McGregor, whatever the result.

As well as predict a comfortable victory for himself, McGregor also told the gathered press that he thought he'd probably be a billionaire by the age of 35 and pushed for a fight in Dublin after the Vegas match up.

Drake's appearance on stage in Vegas caught plenty of people watching off guard.

Yes mate. Yes it is.

McGregor was in a typically upbeat mood, telling the crowd: "It's good to be back. The King is back baby. The King if f***ing back!"

Will having Drake in his corner help The Notorious break down a fighter who so far, nobody else has been able to stop?

Win or lose, this could be a career-defining fight for McGregor - who won't want to fall back on his growing whiskey business just yet.
