The biggest and most famous poker tournament in the world returns to Las Vegas in November.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event is set for a triumphant return after its postponement last year. In 2019, German player Hossein Ensan won the Main Event at the WSOP and took home a life-changing $10,000,000. He defeated 8,569 other players to become the oldest player in 20 years to win the Main Event.

This year, sponsored by GGPoker, the WSOP returns to the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas with 88 separate events taking place, including the one every poker player dreams of winning, the Main Event.

The Main Event starts on November 4th and costs $10,000 to buy-in with the winner not only potentially earning over $10,000,000 but also the illustrious title of WSOP Main Event winner.

Our very own LADbible Poker winner Ryan Osman will be playing in the tournament courtesy of LADbible and GGPoker. Ryan's incredible story from being made redundant to winning a trip to Las Vegas culminates in his participation in the Main Event

The beauty of the WSOP is the incredible stories and drama that arises from the two months of poker action. In 2003, the brilliantly named Chris Moneymaker won the Main Event and bagged himself over $2,000,000 and changed the poker game forever.

He was the first online qualifier of the tournament to win the Main Event, proving that you don't necessarily have to be a poker 'pro' in order to win big at the WSOP. This led to a huge boom in poker known as the 'Moneymaker Effect'. Like Moneymaker, you can qualify for a $10,000 WSOP Main Event seat online on the WSOP sponsors' website GGPoker.

We're holding our own tournament this Sunday on GGPoker with a prize pool of £10,000, you can join us here
