If you thought you weren't overly arsed about this year's World Cup, we bet you are after watching Ronaldo's performance last night and that screamer of a free kick. Just admit it, you're hooked now.

So whatever you were doing today - cancel it while you can. Make some new arrangements, get into the World Cup spirit, you know you want to. Robbie didn't flip you the finger for nothing.

Because today is the first 11-hour stretch of non-stop football to get your teeth into. And we're pretty excited.

The tournament has clearly already got off to a blinding start and it doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon. Obviously, you can never make any promises about the quality of individual games, but let's face it: 11 hours of World Cup footy is going to be an absolute treat.

And on extra special days like today, it's hard to not get excited about the game's greatest showpiece - particularly since it only rolls around every four years.

Here's the line-up of the games which will be starting very shortly indeed:

France v Australia - 11am

Argentina v Iceland - 2pm

Peru v Denmark - 5pm

Croatia v Nigeria - 8pm

And even if you think you're not arsed about any of those teams then ask yourself, were you curious to see David de Gea's performance last night? Were you intrigued by Diego Costa's return to the world stage, even though Ronnie the rocket did sort of take his limelight? (And by sort of we mean, definitely.)

Of course you were.

So go and treat yourself to a few beers, a bottle of the bubbly stuff or hit the nearest pub and celebrate this joyous occasion. Just make the most of it.

Have we got you hyped up yet?

Eleven hours of football. What a time to be alive.
