Whether you're a skateboarder or not, you probably showed some interest in Tony Hawk when you were young, simply because his video games were awesome.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 & 3 were both up there with the best games to be released on the PlayStation 1 & 2, and so Tony was instantly a hero.

17 years ago, the 48-year-old made a huge stir in skateboarding when he landed the first ever '900' at the 1999 X Games.

He became synonymous with the trick, and it cemented him as one of the most successful vertical skateboarders ever.

To mark the occasion, Tony decided to do one more 900. At the tender age of 48, Tony strapped on his pads, put on his helmet, and gave it one last go.

After a few failed attempts, Tony lands it.

He throws his helmet and rips off his pads, seemingly half in celebration and half in frustration.

He then hugs his son, Spencer, who was present at the first ever 900, they then leave with Tony saying: "Spencer was there on my first one, now he's here at my last. Bye."

What a hero.
