Tyson Fury Confronts Braun Strowman At WWE Smackdown Event In Los Angeles

Could 'The Gypsy King' swap the sweetest science for the squared circle?

Former world heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury seems to be eyeing a move towards the world of Sports Entertainment after he vaulted the barricade to confront WWE wrestler Braun Strowman.

'The Gypsy King' was restrained by security at the WWE Smackdown event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles last night as the wresting show made its debut on the Fox TV network.

Fury was just supposed to be sat ringside, but - because this is professional wrestling - there might have been more to his presence than just adding a bit of glamour.

Go on lads...

If you remember, people like Wayne Rooney and Donald Trump have also gotten involved in the squared circle before, and you know how they both turned out.

Anyway, Fury was sitting at the side of the ring to watch an eight-man tag-team match-up between two man group Heavy Machinery, The Miz and Strowman, Randy Orton, Bobby Roode, AJ Styles, and Dolph Ziggler.

When Strowman managed to sit everyone else in the area down, he then focused his considerable energy onto Tyson Fury. Really, he's a very big man.

He goaded the former WBO, WBA, and IBF heavyweight champ by raising his fist, to which Fury - never one to shrink away from a scrap himself - responded in kind.

With Fury and Strowman looking as if they were about to give it a square go, wrestling fans must have thought that their dreams had come true.

However - as is perennially the case in the life and love of a professional wrestling fan - disappointment quickly ensued.

Dolph Ziggler managed to get back up and was thrown pretty heftily into the barricades that Fury was standing at, knocking the former champ back into his seat.

He was then restrained by a number of security guards.

Imagine the scrap between these two behemoths...

Oh well, until the crossover inevitably happens, we'll just have to content ourselves with some actual sport, like boxing.

Tyson Fury is currently waiting on the result of Deontay Wilder's fight against Luis Ortiz on 23 November.

If - as you'd imagine - Wilder is victorious, he will then likely arrange a rematch to sort out his unfinished business with Fury.

The pair drew late last year in a classic fight. The people want to see it happen again.

Fury was last spotted in the ring winning a unanimous points victory against Swedish contender Otto Wallin on 14 September.

With the best will in the world, let's hope we see him in the boxing ring before we see him turn his hand to pro wrestling.
