Wrestler Takes A Baseball Bat To The Face After Stunt Goes Very Wrong

Although the general assumption is that a lot of professional wrestling matches are predetermined, a recent Impact Wrestling event told a very different story.
During a fight with Sami 'Death Machine' Callihan, TNA wrestler Eddie Edwards suffered a brutal blow to the head in a baseball bat stunt gone wrong.
Callihan was losing the match, which was taped in January but aired this week. However, instead of giving up, he threw a couple of 'weapons' into the ring, including a chair which he placed on Edwards' chest.
In an attempt to hit the chair with a baseball bat, Callihan accidentally slammed the bat straight into his eye. Whoopsie.

Shout-out to the commentator for his top-notch reaction: "Josh... Josh that's not right."
It was probably a good thing that the camera panned away from the ring straight after, because judging by the post-fight pictures, Edward's face was pretty damn messed up.

After seeing the fight live for the first time, Edwards Tweeted the following: "Last night was the first time I saw this. Before seeing it I thought I was lucky, now I KNOW I'M LUCKY. Broke face broke nose but ill be ok."
Apparently, the poor guy suffered a broken eye socket and orbital bone from the incident. Meanwhile Callihan has shown absolutely no remorse
Boo whoooooo. I hope the internet keeps crying with you. @IMPACTWRESTLING https://t.co/7paLhLJ4JC

What an absolute savage - guess it's all part of the show, right? At least Edwards took the whole thing on the chin. Or in this case, the eye.
